About

The dancer
behind the camera

Kannan is the photographer behind Kannane Digital Studio in Toronto. His own arangetram was in 1996 — and he has spent more than 20 years photographing the Tamil dance community he grew up in.

He knows the art form from the inside: the abhinaya, the rhythm, the exact beat when a leap hangs in the air. That is why dancers trust him with their arangetrams, stage productions, studio portraits and live events.
